                                    Meet the Stone Man — Carlos Rodriguez

 Master stonemason and local entrepreneur Carlos Rodriguez has come a long way from his humble beginnings as an apprentice stonemason. More than 30 years ago, Rodriguez began his career, training under one of the most successful stonemasons in the Atlanta area. When he started out, he had no idea that he would eventually launch his own masonry company. “I knew I enjoyed working with stone and creating  beautiful landscapes, but I never imagined I would be where I am today,” says Rodriguez Stone Mason.

A Family-Owned Business Founded in 1980

Rodriguez’s business is aptly named Rodriguez Stone Mason, reflecting the fact that this is a family venture. His wife Darlene and their four children help out whenever they can. Other employees are personally and professionally trained by Rodriguez himself to ensure the integrity and superior quality of the craftsmanship for which Rodriguez Stone Mason has become known. “We take pride in our work and expect our employees to do the same,” he says. “It is all about customer satisfaction. If the customer is not satisfied, then we are not satisfied.”

One of the reasons Rodriguez Stone Mason has become so successful is Rodriguez’s attitude towards his craft. “Working with stone is not just about building a retaining wall or paving a pathway. It’s about creating a distinctive environment and transforming a house into a home,” Rodriguez explains. Every project demands special attention in order to meet the individual tastes of every client. Whether you’re looking to design a formal space or a natural environment, Rodriguez Stone Mason can provide the necessary expertise to fashion a plan unique to your specifications.

Residential and Commercial Services Are Available

Located just minutes from Interstate 20 in Lithonia, Georgia, Rodriguez Stone Mason is able to provide services to much of Atlanta and the outlying areas, including Alpharetta, Conyers, and Buckhead. Residential and commercial services are available and include everything from outdoor fireplaces to custom floors. “If you can imagine it, we can build it,” says Rodriguez, who enjoys helping customers meet their design goals.

Rodriguez has recently expanded his business to include landscaping supplies and labor. In addition to selling the usual landscaping materials such as pine straw and stepping stones, mulch, top soil, and a variety of gravels. 

With the additional landscaping services, Rodriguez decided to open a second location near Stonecrest Mall on Highway 124/Turner Hill. “It’s been a great success,” he says. “We’re very easy to find.”

Rodriguez Stone Mason offers an exceptional selection of quality natural stone from all over the United States. With everything from pea gravel to Pennsylvania Bluestone, there’s something for everyone. Special orders are no problem and turnaround time is generally quick. Rodriguez offers reasonable, competitive rates and will gladly provide free estimates that include any applicable delivery charges. For the discriminating customer, handpicked stone is available. Prices are per ton, but smaller loads are permissible.

Rodriguez invites customers to visit the stone yard at 2123 Rock Chapel Rd and see for themselves the different products that are available. Inside the office, clients can look through design books and talk to qualified staff members who can aid them in the decision-making process.
